Orinoquia Bridge

The second bridge over the Orinoco River is a cable – stayed bridge of concrete and steel that links the southern shores ( Bolivar State ) and north ( Anzoategui ) of the Orinoco River at the height of Ciudad Guayana , becoming the second structure to be built on this river after the bridge Angostura . It is one of the most important works of infrastructure in the south of Venezuela . It was inaugurated the 13 of November of 2006 in a ceremony attended by then presidents of Venezuela and Brazil , Hugo Chavez and Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva , respectively.


The work, which was funded and coordinated by the Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana , and executed by the company Brazilian Odebrecht and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Venezuela is a mixed road system that connects the state of Anzoategui and the central region not only with the Guayana region but also with Brazil.
